Since we haven’t seen any snow this year, here are some snowy winter movies to put you in the winter vibe. Here are some of my favorites that you should check out! They are all different kinds of movies, but they are some amazing options you should definitely check out this winter.
While You Were Sleeping (1995)
While You Were Sleeping is such a good winter rom-com; it is shot around Christmas time, and the snow and winter clothing really make you feel some warmth and chills at the same time. I think the story is so interesting; the way Lucy has to pretend to be with Peter while falling for his brother, Jack, is quite entertaining. The main family is very comforting and so fun to watch interact with each other.
The movie starts with Lucy, who works at a train station and frequently sees the same man, whom she then develops a crush on. One day, he falls on the tracks and gets knocked out. She rushes to save him before the train arrives and takes him to the hospital. When she tries to check on him, a doctor mistook her for his fiancée; she tries to correct them, but his family comes and thinks they are engaged. She has to pretend to be with him while he is in his coma, while slowly falling in love with his brother, Jack, whom she just met.
The moment where they are all together at the Callaghan house for Christmas was lovely to watch, and it was so sweet to see how they accepted Lucy like family instantly. The lighting is very cozy and I think it looks really nice. I also love the scene where Lucy and Jack are walking home in the snow and fall. I think it is shot beautifully, and I love how cute their conversation is. They are one of my favorite winter couples, and I love to watch them around wintertime.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is one of my favorite movies; it’s a mix of action and adventure. The movie is set during winter because the White Witch tries to keep it winter all the time, without Christmas.
This movie begins with siblings Lucy, Susan, Peter, and Edmund Pevensie leaving their home because of World War II. To be safe, they go to live in the countryside. A few days after they moved, they played a game of hide and seek. The youngest, Lucy, goes into a restricted room and hides in the wardrobe. She stumbles backwards and ends up in a new world, Narnia. She tries to tell her sibling, but it disappears when she takes them. A while later, she goes back, and her siblings follow. They all end up in Narnia and go on a wild adventure.
The snow and witch really give off winter vibes. And I love the clothing she wears, it reminds me of all the white I see people wear when it’s snowy outside. The White Witch wears a white dress fading into blue, and it gives off an icy and snowy theme, as well as her ice crown. The movie is a perfect choice to watch during this season, and it’s definitely a fan-favorite.

The Cutting Edge (1992)
I think The Cutting Edge is such a classic; it came out in 1992, set during the winter Olympics. I love a good enemies-to-lovers as well as a hockey and figure skater romcom.
The movie is about figure skater Kate Mosely, who is trying to find a new partner for the Olympics. She is stuck up and drives away partner after partner. Anton, her coach, has to quickly find her a new one. He asks Doug Dorsey, who is a former Olympic hockey player who is also arrogant. The two have to work together and get past their beef to compete in the Olympics, while they slowly end up falling in love with each other.
Since it’s set during the winter, it is, of course, an amazing choice to watch; it brings out all the feels and makes you feel warm inside. Figure skating is amazing to watch, and it’s fun to see them grow as a team throughout the cold season. I would definitely recommend that others watch this movie this winter to bring you some coziness.
These are some of my favorite winter movies that I love to watch when the season comes around! I think you should 100% check these out soon after coming inside from a long, cold winter day. Bring some hot chocolate and a blanket with you while you get ready to dive into some amazing movies!
