Letter to the Editor: Safer club creates shirts, sends needed message on harassment

Dear editor,

I wish to express my immense admiration for the recent feature on the SAFER Club, titled “Empowering the Class of 2025: Student and Staff Advocates Foster a Sanctuary.” As a junior at McDaniel, I find solace in narratives that intricately explore the transformative initiatives shaping our community. Kudos for spotlighting Anika and Zoe Wright’s SAFER Club, where their endeavors to cultivate a secure and inclusive space for discussions on sensitive topics serve as a beacon of inspiration.

The article adeptly encapsulated the essence of their endeavors and illuminated the significance behind them. Vice Principal Keyla Santiago’s contribution was particularly noteworthy, underscoring her unwavering support for the club and the commendable focus on addressing issues often overlooked in traditional classrooms, adding a compelling layer to the narrative. The article’s robust advocacy for fostering open conversations on healthy relationships resonated profoundly with me.

Witnessing The Oracle provide a platform for voices dedicated to championing a safer and more supportive school environment is truly commendable. I extend my gratitude for consistently keeping us informed and engaged with narratives that hold significance. Eagerly anticipating more impactful content in the future.

Sincerely,

Anthony Cetina

We welcome your thoughts and perspective, but there are some guidelines that you should follow when making a comment on any of the publications we put out. We moderate comments based on the following criteria. 1. We want you to share your opinion and your background. Your experience and insight is extremely valuable to us as we provide news and other content for the McDaniel community and beyond. 2. The best comments don’t generalize or diminish groups of people. For example if a comment says "everyone on the left" or "everyone on the right" it does a poor job at facilitating productive conversation. 3.
