McDaniel Advanced Spanish students receive Wholistic Peace Award

Nancy Olmsted Spanovich, executive director of the Wholistic Peace Association, presents an award to principal Adam Skyles to recognize the Advanced Spanish classes. “Educating for Peace” is the association’s motto. The focus for this year’s award is: “The Dalai Lama’s Pledge for Society through love, humility, and compassion. We forge unity, harmony and peace.” This was a very heartfelt moment for the school because it highlighted the effort of the classes.

Greenware pots and bowls sit on a shelf. After these dry out for a few days, they will be loaded into a kiln to be fired into bisqueware. Then they are glazed and put into a glazeware firing, which is usually the last step in the creation of ceramics.
